Dusty Rose Bark Cloth

I find the muted colors of this vintage bark cloth simply delicious. Primroses and tulips. The perfect spring motif.

It's called bark cloth because of it's heavy texture. But it's also weighty and cushy soft. I just brought in these two large and lovely panels to the shop.

I wrestled with whether or not to give this French mirror a whitewash. I'll let someone else decide!

The linen panels sold, so now we have net lace curtains from France hanging in the window. Since they are antique, the tea stained hue is the real deal. Love the sweet little ruffle at the top. I love how they work with the dusty rose.

This antique framed mirror did get the white treatment, which shows off all the delicious detail. Another vintage beauty breaking my Cabin & Cottage heart. Sometimes bringing things in for sale is like tossing something against a wall to see what sticks. I have come back the next day and hauled things out again! Oh the many-spendored trials of shop keeping!

I also took some shots of sweet things nearby in the rest of the Vintage Market and Design shop. There is a daily mine field of temptation.

Just luscious, no??

Let's shop!

Jacqueline

  19. So many yummy tempting things, I can't stand it... I don't know what it is about Bark cloth, but I just love it, and in those colors. sigh... And what are the blooming flowers on the table, are they camellias, or roses, I must have them. If I lived near I would head to your shop at least once a week. It would be on my weekend 'must do' list...

  21. Jacqueline,
Love, love, love the barkcloth panels!!! EVERYTHING is luscious, dear friend!!!
I had to chuckle about the "mine field of temptation"...for I would be "hauling things out" daily!!! Ha!
This past two weeks I have done some serious damage to the checkbook...so, I'll have to pass on the invitation to do shopping...for now, anyway!
    Have a marvelous week ahead!!!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  23. Your shop is looking gorgeous, Jacqueline. I would find it difficult not to buy things every day I was there! I have a bark cloth knitting bag with wood handles made of material almost identical to yours. Bark cloth always reminds me of verandahs and iced tea and wicker furniture. I hope you're enjoying the process of having a shop again. Best of luck not spending all your profits!!
